This year CVD/SVCD ramps up and takes over part of the legacy VCD sales. Next year CVD/VCD/SVCD starts to ramp down and DVD ramps up unless the Chinese gov't does something to block DVD. CVD may be 25% or more of total VCD chip supplied to market this year. SVCD will be starting from behind next year. Trying to target SVCD at CVD when DVD will ultimately win seems a bit short sighted to me. I am simply not convinced of the viability in CVD or SVCD looking a year or two out. Timing is everything. re: ESS, Zoran and Luxsonor teaming up against Cube. That is a scary thought, but not for Cube... They would do well to take a lesson from ESS.
