Don't really mean the economy will be better any time soon. Was only for the joke. But long term if the Republicans can pick up a 60% or more majority and reduce tax's and spending then sooner or latter we will be well in the black. But that usually takes time. Probably as much as 4 or 5 years.

Some are really afraid of the year 2000 bug. Have even heard of a theory that either our missile's or the someone else's may launch automatically at 12:01 AM 01/01/2000.

' On that note, I want to add my voice to the silent chorus of the people quietly grateful for all the useful information on this board, particularly the invaluable reports on the appeal hearings.'

I lurk here frequently and am continually impressed by the quality of the posts and lack of partisan rancor that is so common on other boards. Thanks.

I may have missed some of the info on this board but these are questions I still have.

Is there a date when we may expect a ruling from the court and if it should find for Ampex can Mitsu again appeal? Outside of Mitsu winning this (or heaven forbid any subsequent judgements) how long can this go on...............until Ampex runs out of money? Was it this appeal/litigation that prompted the $12M loan and not just for acquisitions.

If Mitsu wins this round doesn't that increase the chances that any of Ampex' old patents, which seems to be their primary revenue base, will be vulnerable to similar thefts?

Thanks again, Marcia Shattan

>>...as I plotted my polite getaway from a dinner date with a lady who sincerely believed that the world was going to end before the year 2000 and whose family had already "taken" precautions up in the mountains),.<<

Now read Hugh's post today (9/15) about the Year 2000 bug causing automatic nuclear war at 12:01 a.m. on January 1, 2000.

Which mountain is this hideaway in? Ampex needs to pick it up fast so I can get enough cash to by my lot up there.

Heck, maybe I should see if the date glitch will register all my AXC stock at the price I first paid for it. Then I can cash out just when the market opens (on January 2).

Here's an idea - maybe we should declare a 2 day holiday in 2000 instead of just January 1. This would ease any problems in slowly. Maybe a whole week would be better! Those that didn't go along would find some problems and the effect would be minimized.

Unless of course Zimbanistan's nukes get launched!
