Michael - I say he won't resign, but, there is the January deadline that I'm sure the WH is taking into consideration:

If he does resign, or is impeached before January (21st I believe), that means Al Gore would only be eligible for one re-elective term because he would have served more than two years as Clinton's replacement, and two years is considered a "term" under these circumstances.

Keeping that in mind, I think he'll wait until he sees what else Starr has on the other cases before he makes a decision on resignation.

Michael, your pointing out this isn't all we'll hear is very true. I'm not surprised that some of the more vocal Clinton supporters on this thread have limited their depth of thought, and see this as an attempt to get Clinton out of office.... not true. The goal is to capture the White House and have a majority in the House & Senate. This is evidenced by how the leading republicans are behaving now on the issue of impeachment. Notice they hedge when asked about impeaching him. They talk mostly of slapping his wrist. They want Clinton around so he can continue to screw up, and bring the Democratic Party down, at a later, more opportune time. Clinton is an ill person when it comes to dealing with his sexual urges, he could very well get caught doing similar things and lying about it. Not to mention the likelihood of other improper acts committed previously, OR, his dealings in White Water, Filegate and so on. Gore isn't the one the Republicans care to go after for the next two years, matter of fact, protocol calls for a grace period if he takes office.

It's not a Democrat or Republican thing to remove Clinton from office.NOW. It is the American People's responsibility.
