Dave, this is precisely why I went with the boxed 266. It's 1/2 the price of the 300a, overclocks great, and gives you the freedom to wait for the 300a (or later) chip once it's cheap and readily available. (I actually have the 300a on backorder. I find with high-demand parts, prices from the cheapest vendors often rise--another reason to get on a list, as you can always cancel before it ships. CMPexpress.com had it for $160 shipped.)

I got my 266 at buycomp.com, in stock for $82 and shipping. (they charge me about $9 for the first part, but almost nothing for add'l parts, so I placed an order for multiple items at once. They have dirt cheap prices on things like cables, adapters, sound cards, etc.)

Good luck,

Dave
