Ready for another wave of Quake2 popularity? "Mission Pack 2: Ground Zero" was released over the weekend. I'm visiting relatives on the East Coast right now, but I was still able to get a copy and play some on my Brother-in-law's machine. It's _really_ good. Remember the chainsaw from Doom? Remember the Holoduke from Duke Nuke'm? Remember the Nail Gun and Lightning Gun from Quake 1? Their in there!

The single-player levels look pretty good too. Several new monsters including a spider-like thing that crawls on the ceiling.

And, yes, the 3Dfx flyer was included inside the box too!

Here's a more complete review: compactiongames.miningco.com

Highly recommended,
Chip

P.S. If you are interested in joining the "Due Diligence" Quake2 "clan" that plays roughly once a week, please send me your email address and I'll add you to the list. All email addresses are kept confidential. DD was never this much fun!

The next TnT will likely include faster memory, so they will see additional speedup. The TnT's failure to meet claims was only partially due to the reduced clock speed. The original claims assumed 200MHz memory, which isn't available and isn't likely to be available in 6 months either. (At least not at affordable prices.) They might be able to ship 133MHz memory with the TnT+.
