Monsieur Gonzo: Straddle trades
Thanks very much for your detailed discourse on the long straddle spreads; I have much work to do.
BTW: altho I realize that Intel Corp is almost "off topic" on this thread, I have a conspiracy theory to throw out: to wit; Intel helps out the market at a critical point(last Thursday, after close and down 250 points) with the "good news" on an 8 to 10% improvement anticipated for 3rd quarter; now, is this 8-10% more than the previous
downward guidance. Looks like margins/profits are still falling, year over year.
In an "unrelated" story, the government lawyers give Intel a push out on the scheduled anti-trust trial for Jan99.
Quid pro quo from Mr. Rubin to keep the markets decline orderly?
I guess I'm getting cynical about efforts to keep the market pumped for the continued institutional dumping(see NYT report re: institutional selling, not individuals in recent decline).
Thanks again for your help

Bye-Bye ALD. That happened even quicker than I thought.

But, I'll take the 6.5% since Friday afternoon. Now, got to look around for something else to buy. hmmm. That's not going to be as easy.
