I do find fault with him. He didn't do it in protest. He did it in cowardly avoidance. He made a choice between honor and selfishness. Selfishness won out.

Jim: From that reasoning we can conclude that because lying has been going on as a part of politics that we should now excuse it.

I wonder if you and I can use that as a defense if we lie on our tax returns?
