Oper profit 124.125 mln n/a
Net worth 899.950 bln n/a
NOTE: All figures in Brazilian reais and not adjusted for
inflation.
Spain's Telefnica (MADRID:TEF) bought Tele Sudeste Celular
Participacoes as part of the July 29 privatization of
Telebras.
The company is expected to be listed and begin trading on
September 21.

A group led by Canada's Telesystem International Wireless
(TSE:TIW) bought Tele Norte Celular Participacoes as part of the
July 29 privatization of Telebras.
The company is expected to be listed and begin trading on
September 21.

Brazil's Bovespa (INDEX:$BVSP.X) up 1.62 pct at 1135 EDT

the 57 most traded shares was up 1.62 percent at 5,485 points
