I would imagine any short positions by anyone in any of the lawfirms would establish a basis for a countersuit. Presumably, that information would come up during discovery.

If any potential liabilities are covered by insurance anyway, it looks like the real impact will be much more psychological than economic. The mood seems negative enough that we may have seen the worst, particularly with many expecting the stock to go lower.

Given the company's announcement of cutbacks and expectations that they should have earnings around consensus estimates, we may see some valuation-based recommendations of the stock at these levels. The long-term value case remains compelling. It's simply a question of how long it takes for the story to play out and how low the low turns out to be before the stock begins to climb.
