<<Its almost used as a defense and a way to gain all the people that the republicans exclude from their moralistic views on the world. >>

By definition a moralistic view MUST exclude certain behaviors. The liberal moralistic view is likewise exclusive. The problem is that the liberal morality is profoundly hypocritcal. A conservative can state that 'homosexuality is wrong and I cannot endorse the idea that it is on a par with heterosexual behavior' and then his behavior can follow suit. A liberal talks about the need for being 'inclusive' yet I have never seen this inclusivity extended to those who choose to be not so inclined. Clinton talked a good talk about a cabinet and an administration that would "look like America" yet how many conservatives were to be appointed to these positions? How many fundamental Christians were appointed? None. I think that the America Bill Clinton was referring to must have been one of his imagination.
