The Christian on the other hand depends upon the grace and forgiveness of sins by the one and only saviour, Jesus Christ.

Try examining the fate of all people who put someone else above God.

Unfortunately Chris, Jesus (Pbuh) is not the only savior mentioned in the Bible. This is another important point. If we compare the KJV and any other version of the Bible, we can see clear manipulation by translators with regards to who is referred to as a "savior."

But let me guess....you don't believe me? Well that's fine. I can prove it. Consider the following verses from the KJV:

2 Kings 13:5

And the LORD gave Israel a saviour, so that they went out from under the hand of the Syrians: and the children of Israel dwelt in their tents, as beforetime.

Obadiah 21st verse:

And saviours shall come up on mount Zion to judge the mount of Esau; and the kingdom shall be the LORD's.

Nehemiah 9:27

Therefore thou deliveredst them into the hand of their enemies, who vexed them: and in the time of their trouble, when they cried unto thee, thou heardest them from heaven; and according to thy manifold mercies thou gavest them saviours, who saved them out of the hand of their enemies.

John 4:42

And said unto the woman, Now we believe, not because of thy saying: for we have heard him ourselves, and know that this is indeed the Christ, the Saviour of the world.

In all these verses from the KJV, people other than Jesus (Pbuh) (except for the last verse) are referred to as "Saviors." However, lets now look at another version of the Bible (NIV) of the exact same verses and see what the translators have done:

2 Kings 13:5

The LORD provided a deliverer for Israel, and they escaped from the power of Aram. So the Israelites lived in their own homes as they had before.

Obadiah 21st:

Deliverers will go up on [3] Mount Zion to govern the mountains of Esau. And the kingdom will be the LORD's.

Neheamiah 9:27

So you handed them over to their enemies, who oppressed them. But when they were oppressed they cried out to you. From heaven you heard them, and in your great compassion you gave them deliverers, who rescued them from the hand of their enemies.

John 4:42

They said to the woman, "We no longer believe just because of what you said; now we have heard for ourselves, and we know that this man really is the Savior of the world."

Do you see what has occurred? In the KJV, many people are called "Saviors." However, in other versions of the Bible such as NIV, the translators have stopped referring to people as saviors and started to only apply it to Jesus (Pbuh) and God.

You don't have to be an educated Greek Scholar to see that manipulation is taking place. In the verses examined from the NIV, the word "Savior" was replaced with "Deliverer." Now, they both technically mean the same thing. But to give Christians the sense that Jesus (Pbuh) is the only savior, they only refer to him as "savior."

If they were consistent and true to their translations, when they changed the word "savior" from the KJV to "deliverer" in the NIV, they should have done so in all places. This, however, is not the case by any means. Rather, they use the word only when it applies to Jesus (Pbuh) and God but never to anyone else. Whatever this greek word which means "savior" was applied to many others in the Bible, but the translators of the NIV, NASB, RSV, etc. won't let you know that.

Peace be unto you,
Norris
