El,
True, but I took a walk down memory lane, and looked up some of my old stock friends. I deserted TRV in the mid 60s early this year, my old deserted friend is now 41 1/2. I grew impatient with ELY in the mid 30s last year. The promise of new golf balls and high tech clubs wasn't happening in the bad California weather. ELY is really down on his luck today at 9 7/8. Vulture financing and a strange FCC LMDS auction caused me to run from CVUS at about 6. The stock fell so fast even the vultures flew away. Today it is less then a $1, and had to sell a major part of the FCC spectrum it won with pioneer LMDS status. I will not continue the litany of sorrow my other old friends have endured over the past year. These times have not been good to them. All have lost precious weight to a horrible battle. I fear the Bears still hunt them, and they are not fast.

Of the few stock friends I have retained, the battle scars are deep but not fatal. ALL is old and down but still on dry land. Not bad for an IPO grown old. INTC suffers the humilation of Kurlak the demon, but steadily holds it's ground. IDX has been cut in half and bleeds all over my remaining battle scared stock friends. Some how IDX may recover. Perhaps we shall purchase a wheelchair for him with a tax sale. Then there is CPQ! My oldest remaining warrior friend. He has seen better days. However, his feet are still planted on firm ground. Almost went wading a few times on me. I have to admit, if he was a new friend, he would be neck deep in water. I think next year he will be mountain climbing and very happy. In the interim, should he go near the water!

PS Anyone who understands this story has followed too many stocks, and probably spent too much time on SI.
