Sorry craigt but I've said this before... most MM's trade from their positions...If they are flat and happened to be on the offer and get lifted for say 50000 shares they oft times will flip to the bid or go high bid to make the spread...Now sometimes they sit on the offer because they are selling for somebody...I know about 30 days ago everybody was complaining about FLSC sitting on the offer "they're shorting stock" those lousy sob's but I've noticed lately they been totally out of the market without really going to the bid so I believe they were selling for somebody...When a stock is active and trading nice volume there will be more competition on the bid and offer for trades....so if you've got 4 bids and 5 offers it's going to be very hard to manipulate the market
