Interesting stuff from HBOC's web site Tiers -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The HBOC Business Partner Solutions Program is only available to authorized HBOC Business Partners. Participation is covered under the terms and conditions of the HBOC agreement(s) establishing a business partner relationship with HBOC. Participation in HBOC's Business Partner Solutions Program provides many benefits, as outlined in the following description of each partnership tier. Value-Added Marketing Partner The Value-Added Marketing Partner category dictates a high level of risk, commitment and investment. This level exists for products that are integral to HBOC's existing healthcare information system solutions, and may require a development commitment by HBOC and/or access to HBOC technologies. Such a relationship could result in an HBOC's private-label solution, an embedded solution or an HBOC-specific version of the partner's product. At this tier, HBOC and the Value-Added Marketing Partner's success are closely tied; therefore, HBOC markets this product as if it were its own. Marketing Partner In a marketing partnership, both companies realize the strategic value gained through product and company alignment. The resulting value to HBOC customers is a more robust solution. Often, to realize the true potential of the combined offering, some form of integration is required. Referral Partner Typically, HBOC enters into a referral partnership because its customers identify specific needs they would like HBOC to address, but the solution does not currently fit into its strategic model or core competencies. In a referral partnership, HBOC increases its commitment through its sales and marketing channel, in anticipation of mutual financial growth. The Referral Partner tier generally applies to those solutions that co-exist with HBOC's applications and may be interfaced through standard interfaces.
