No, MVS, which is IBM's top end O/S and runs on S/390. Came out in the early 70's and has been updated/refined ever since. It's the O/S that runs most of the Fortune 500's critical business... VMS is the DEC high end OS that runs on VAX machines. As I understand it, David Cutler was behind the DEC O/S, then went over to Microsoft and became the lead designer of NT....
