I've shielded large profits in treasury bonds that I've just sold. Moreover, I expect to buy back two of the issues I sold in a couple of weeks. Tax-loss selling is a September through December phenomenon and entails a number of interesting ramifications. It's more sophisticated than a Here-comes-December-so let's-sell-the-losers activity.
