Alan,

In addition to his strategy to discredit the bible to justify his faith, he conveniently pulls verses from it, when they apply to his position. But if you use one to discredit his belief, those are not of God.

So he gets the best of both worlds, he uses the ones he wants and throws out the ones that don't apply and discredit....how convenient!

If the Qu'ran is such a perfect book, why doesn't he just use that on its own to prove his position? Raymond........

God Bless,
Steve

I have read some of your Quran and it's only agenda is to discredit the Bible which includes the Torah.

Unfortunately Alan, you shouldn't speculate on matters that you have not sufficiently investigated.

The Qur'an never mentions the Bible. Not one time. And yet you claim its only agenda is to discredit the Bible and Torah. How can this be so??

The word "bible" means "library." It comes from the words "biblioteca" as we can see in French and Spanish which means "Library." The Qur'an talks of the Messages sent to Jesus (Pbuh) and Moses (Pbuh) but not about the Bible. Muslims don't believe the Bible is the message that was sent to these Prophets from God.

You want proof? That's not hard to find at all. Bible scholars will admit that we don't know who wrote Genesis, Deuteronomy, Numbers, Isaiah, Mark, Luke, John, Matthew, etc. People claim Moses (Pbuh) wrote the Torah but that is discredited where the Torah describes Moses's (Pbuh) death and what happened after he departed.

The Qur'an came not to destroy but to confirm. It is the last message in the series of Messages God sent to humankind. It is not a new book but the conclusion of all messages sent.

It seems to me that Islam's purpose is to discredit rather than being a religion that can stand on it's own merits

Can't stand on its own merits? Is that why the Catholic Church has opened a studies section on Islam and studying its origin? Is that why no one has come up with a sensible reason for its origin? All theories are unacceptable because they prove illogical or impossible. Perhaps you feel you can enlighten these Biblical scholars that have been studying for centuries.

Islam seems to try to analyze how Jews pray and how it relates to Islam.....

What are you talking about? No where in Islam do Muslims analyze how Jews pray. I've never heard such nonsense.

And most of these people will be shocked to find out that their proclamation that their god is the Creator of the heaven and the earth is no more than lip service, and that they are in fact destined for Hell (12:106)

Perhaps you should quote from the Qur'an instead of fabricating things. Here are the verses you quote:

{12:104] Thou askest them no fee for it. It is naught else than a reminder unto the peoples.

105 How many a portent is there in the heavens and the earth which they pass by with face averted!

106 And most of them believe not in Allah except that they attribute partners (unto Him).

107: Deem they themselves secure from the coming on them of a pall of God's punishment, or the coming of the Hour suddenly while they are unaware ?

108: Say: This is my Way: I call on God with sure knowledge. I and whosoever followeth me - Glory be to God! - and I am not of the idolaters.

109 We sent not before thee (any messengers) save men whom We inspired from among the folk of the townships - Have they not travelled in the land and seen the nature of the consequence for those who were before them ? And verily the abode of the Hereafter, for those who ward off (evil), is best. Have ye then no sense ? -

110: Till, when the messengers despaired and thought that they were denied, then came unto them Our help, and whom We would was saved. And Our wrath cannot be warded from the guilty.

As it is clear, the verse you quoted refers to Pagans and those that attribute partners with God. So why fabricate Quranic verses? Do you feel if you quote the Qur'an it will persuade people?

<i.Your god can be your children (7:190), your spouse (9:24), your business (18:35), or your ego (25:43). This is why we note that one of the most important and most repeated commandments in the Quran is :
" O you who believe, you shall remember God frequently; glorify Him day and night." 33:41

Now lets look at what the Qur'an really says instead of what you make up:

7:190
But when He gave unto them aright, they ascribed unto Him partners in respect of that which He had given them. High is He Exalted above all that they associate (with Him).

Hmm....nope, I don't see any mention of children that you inserted. Lets look at the next verse:

9:24
Say: If your fathers, and your sons, and your brethren, and your wives, and your tribe, and the wealth ye have acquired, and merchandise for which ye fear that there will no sale, and dwellings ye desire are dearer to you than God and His messenger and striving in His way: then wait till God bringeth His command to pass. God guideth not wrongdoing folk.

This verse simply says those that put anything above God shall be punished. Are you saying you disagree with this?

Next verse: 18:35

And he went into his garden, while he (thus) wronged himself. He said: I think not that all this will ever perish.

No mention of whatever you asserted.

25:43
Hast thou seen him who chooseth for his god his own lust ? Wouldst thou then be guardian over him ?

Again, the message is that we must worship the One and Only God and never attribute anyone to Him.

33:41

" O you who believe, you shall remember God frequently; glorify Him day and night."

And your problem with this verse is????

Perhaps when you reply, you might consider a little known aspect called "tact." It's amazing how arrogant people can be towards religion and condescending to anyone that does not share their beliefs.

Peace be Unto You,
Norris
