Unfortunately the apparent KM technical case does not blend too well with the evolving business case, Ed. In the 10K ( as I understood it)
Ampex stated that they found that the capacity gains that made it so cost effective with inductive heads only come with modification of MR heads. Modifications that require additional expense. They were not specific. And Sean please correct me if I am wrong, but didn't the brilliant young student at Minnesota - the one working with Dr. Judy and KM ... who loved the story of the AXC engineer who originally invented MR heads - tell you in an email that there were "complications " with the KM- MR combo? Anything that adds to the expense of using KM reduces its salability. Perhaps...in years to come...when thermal decay becomes a serious problem, KM will remain the only available palliative. But in the rapidly moving tech world, I sure do doubt that. Or perhaps for some reason inductve heads will make a comeback...or some new more compatible head will arise ...perhaps from AXC itself. But..........grabbing for straws in a hurricane when it comes to KM hopes. Chances are very high that if good things develop for AXC, they will not spring from KM.
Odd equilibrium in the trading here. What size lots are generally trading? Who is selling? Who is buying? I always wonder. Somebody is supporting the price.
Getting ready to buy a little more here myself...and that will be it for me. Fingers and toes and eyes crossed.

The other obvious point - if KM did give a distinct economic edge ,,,we can be pretty sure MicroNet would be using it soon.
There is always the possibility that KM can be used in tape storage...and if they can do that successfully themselves, AXC could then license it to others. That would be nice.
