Is anybody scared? Not me. This from the company that is so confused they don't know whether they are coming or going <g> Remember ROK is the same company that indicated that the semiconductor operation was ready to rock'n roll and would be the cornerstone of the new ROK blah blah blah... and then they go and surprise everyone by spinning it off (which may be a good thing for them in the long term - but it just looks weird when a few months before they had grand ambitions for the semicon operations.) These guys yap a lot but the substance (other than Avionics and Automation) is not yet there and will take awhile. (LU is kicking their butts in modem chipsets but that is a whole other disaster area.) I'm still waiting for their CDMA (?) design wins. LSI has had a std. digital camera chip for what 2 years now (?) and counting - so let them join the party... but I for one am definitely not scared <g> BTW that std. sell to everybody thing is exactly the "subtle" change that I'm hoping LSI can deliver on - large volume chips fewer changes per design...
