I was going to say "thanks for the compliment", then I thought about all the controversy over prosecutors lately and thought I should reconsider<gg>.

No, I am not a prosecutor or attorney, but in one of my past lives was a step or two earlier in the criminal justice chain in law enforcement management. I am still somewhat involved in investigative matters and legal presentations since, among my various unrelated and semi-related business activities, we have a company involved in corporate, governmental and entertainment industry security.

And, now that you have brought it up, as an aside to the hopefully departed Mr. GerryMiles: Yes, I am a duly licensed investigator ("a Dick Tracy" to your parlance) and I am in Massachusetts.

To those who feel, as I do, that the hallmark of SI is the free interchange of ideas, I apologize for trying to chase away a participant; but I think his behavior is such that he put himself outside of our acceptable ethical and professional standards.

Back to basics - I believe that the Motorola article is another announcement of something "not inconsistent" with WAVE, but not specifically indicating the WAVE system. The Motorola "set-top" converter is an item that has been a major Motorola developmental project for a number of years. IMHO that their announcement was saying "it's finally here" and "it will be compatible with whatever develops".

Just my opinion.
