Richard,

I don't take good notes but I seem to remember Morgan saying, a couple of years ago, that AMAT was going to be a $10 billion revenue company by 2000.

Any AMAT historians out there with article that can confirm?

Ramsey

From revenues over the last four quarters to $8 billion in 2002 is only about 15% growth per year.

I find the comment referencing break even at $600 million per quarter is more telling, but much harder to interpret. For instance, does that mean in a continued downturn in 1999, revenues could actually slip to $2.4 billion? Or does it mean that by trimming expenses to breakeven at $2,4 B, they expect say a 10% net profit margin on revenues of $3.6 billion ?

Any ideas?
