I don't hear much talk about set-top boxes, but the technology still may become as common in households as the modern cable box. If you could have a cable, internet, game, digital sound, home theatre, whatever else box for $300 to $700, would you go for it? Motorola sure thinks you will, as they have moved forward on their product called "Blackbird".

What's the long-term affect on game companies, will they eventually distribute their products electronically, or just house the code centrally and rent use of the software using a usage time based manner? Will game makers lose control of their process to larger entities that provide set top box service, or will they become one of the entities that controls the direction the industry goes?
