Is anyone following AMREP Corp. (symbol AXR on the NYSE)? They are listed in October's issue of Individual Investor as America's fastest growing profitable company. Earnings last quarter grew 1,300% and 2 quarters ago it grew 750%. This is the info I have on them. They are in the home building and land development business (they also own a magazine distribution business that they are looking to spin off to shareholders) Shares outstanding 7,369,000 14% held by institutions Book Value 9.59 EPS for last 12 months is 1.43 52 week high 10.50 current price is bid 6 9/16 by 6 11/16 Address: 641 Lexington Ave. Sixth Floor New York NY 10022 Phone (212) 705-4700 My opinion: With interest rates falling and home building increasing, this should continue it's growth. With such a small number of shares it won't take much buying to drive the price up.
