Paul and thread,

If any of you are close to news from the developers forum and you have any information or thoughts on how the Rambus presentation/module is going, I would appreciate your thoughts (as they relate to RMBS and INTC)

TIA,

MileHigh

Intel Investors - Intel's Official 1999 Processor RoadMap is posted at the Intel Web Site:

intel.com;

Current plans are for the following:

1. 450 MHz XEON Servers/4-way in H199 PLUS 500 MHz Tanner which will include Katmai New Instructions. (Both Slot 2)

2. Cascades - a 0.18 micron Coppermine/Katmai in a Slot 2 package.

3. Coppermine 0.18 micron Katmai in H299 in a Slot 1 package

4. 450 AND 500 MHz Katmai in H1 1999 for Desktops - Slot 1

5. 366 MHz Celerons for "Basic PCs" - that is, PCs to compete with AMD & NSM - in H199

6. 333 MHz Mobile Pentium II with integrated L2 cache. (My guess - this is the DIXON with 256 K L2 cache on the CPU) - H199.

7. 300 MHz Pentium MMX (That's right - the ol' Pentium - NOT the Pentium II). Intel is pushing this out to 300 MHz and keeping it alive - probably to compete with AMD and Cyrix chips in the LOW COST notebook segment - <$1200. Also, H199.

Check it out !
