Re: "one would expect AMD to make some kind of positive noise soon...or at least the stock price should rise from the dead. It hasn't happened yet. It makes one wonder, and probably means more losses for Q3."

Since the beginning of the month AMD's stock price has risen from around 13 to around 17.

That's about 30% in 15 days!

You should stop shamelessly brownnosing with Paul and start using your head.

Joey Smith:

<<If AMD can't differentiate with 3D-NOW over the next few months, they are in Big Trouble!! (although they are still in bad shape even if things go expected to plan).>>

3DNOW is already making its mark. Currently there are 5 websites dedicated to 3DNOW including one Russian and one Polish. The number of companies committed to writing 3DNOW games are increasing rapidly.
There are already 40 games that have or will support 3DNOW and at least 8 applications available with 3DNOW. That is not so bad after releasing the chip 3 months ago. Many of these games will hit the Christmas season about the time when the K6-2-400MHz will be widely available and the performance will be spectacular. 3DNOW will hit big this Christmas season.

<<It makes one wonder, and probably means more losses for Q3.>>

Would you care to make your guesses on AMD Q3 earnings? From what I have heard AMD is doing very well on their CPU line.

It is kind of funny that Intel will release the KNI starting for $500+ for the 450MHz and $800+ for the 500MHz to compete with 3DNOW. KNI is late to the market and at that price not too many people can afford KNI.

I have had that exact thought for 4 or 5 days now.

It seems that AMD has only leaked the good news to Maxwell - and NOBODY ELSE !
