Walt,

>>I really feel that an alliance will be announced by COMS/Intel.I do not see a buyout in the cards. What say you?<<

I definitely think something is up. (COMS, I think will have
numerous alliances also).

It doesn't make any sense for INTC to be in the networking business
seriously, but they need to get the internet working a lot better
so their chip business could improve. It seems to me very
natural, and prosperous for both sides if they were
to collaborate on some project so that Networks are ubiquitous.
At the moment, I can't think of a "killer app" between the two.
Maybe, something with the Palm PC?

My office mate surprised me today and said, "guess what I'm
getting myself?...a Palm PC". I told him to wait till Nov.
and get the new one with the color screen. Maybe COMS will come
out with a special "toy" for Christmas sales? Maybe it
will be part INTC toy?

REPEAT: no way INTC can become a big Networking company. You
can't just buy into it as we have seen from large past mergers.
