Thanks Spots (reply to BSOD issues): "Not too surprising you can't get a dump after disk problems, SCSI or IDE. THe dump goes to the disk, after all. Many of my instabilities have occurred because of NT disk mapping, ESPECIALLY when a drive path fails." Interesting. I'd like to hear more about drive path failures, since this may well explain my recurring problems. I've determined that the two errors seem to crop up whenever there are lots of disk reads/writes, and not when it's idling or simply working. My drive config currently is Maxtors as both IDE masters and one slave, with the secondary slave containing a 6x IDE drive. I'm now using the Intel Bus Master drivers, but previously was using the default drivers with the same results. I _have_ switched the primary slave Maxtor, putting it in a removable tray. Perhaps this is causing drive path problems, though Disk Administrator is having no problems recognizing it. "Most reasonably current cards are self-terminating, but that was a pretty cheap card if I recall your price list. Second, I remember from somewhere deep down in Anand's page (I think Anand's) that there is some problem with the ABIT BH6 and Adaptec SCSI cards. Some incompatibility. Unfortunately, many el-cheapo SCSI cards pretend to be Adaptecs of some stripe or other to get a free ride on the drivers. " This card self-terminates, and uses native NT drivers (symbios 810,) not adaptecs. The only problems I've seen with it have been on Award bios machines (like this one,) but then only with the update from the symbios web site. Then again, I wasn't using a CD-rom. I haven't yet tried just yanking the card (tho both devices are now disconnected,) but that's a step I'll take soon, esp. if folks like you think it's a likely culprit. As always, I appreciate the time you're taking to help, Spots. Any further thoughts are most welcome, and I'll be sure to post any potentially useful info I find.
