Christmas not likely. Assuming they started up industrial design
when iMac came out in August, minimum of six months. In fact, I
think the decision to follow up is recent (now), and the announcements
are preemptive, to dissuade potential PC customers from buying iMacs
because of styling, because a Wintel version will be out instead.
No timeline means they have no idea when it will happen, otherwise
they would have projected an overly optimistic date instead ;-)

I think we will see iMac like designs showing up from PC manufacturers
in about 1 year. Remember, this is probably a morph of a design that
Apple has been working on for a couple of years now. Moreover, I am
sure they plan to be a moving target. By the time Intel boxes come
out in blue, Apple may be producing a whole rainbow of colors and
options...

I agree. The iMac is so popular that it has really stuck it to the PC world which has become stodgy and has lost its way recently. I think there may be a monumental attempt by a lesser PC maker to come out with their iMac copy by Christmas.
