ALAMEDA, Calif., Sept. 15 /PRNewswire/ -- Wind River Systems (Nasdaq: WIND), the leading provider of real-time operating systems, integrated software development tools and engineering services for embedded applications, today announced that its industry-leading Tornado(TM) development environment will support for Motorola's (NYSE: MOT) new MPC8260 PowerQUICC II(TM) Communications Microprocessor. This new combination of Wind River software and Motorola hardware is ideal for developing a diverse range of high-end communications equipment such as remote access concentrators, regional office routers, cellular base stations and telecom switching equipment.
