You realize these people are long dead? Find a living person to use as an example, please.

Ish, my point is that there's been a change in society. There is less respect for position having immunity. We easily feel its our right to ask anyone any question. The social distance in past times was profound.. reporters wouldn't in public ask private questions.

A clear example of this was when Clinton was in Russia at the conclusion of talks with Yeltsin. Only two Americans thought to use that moment to ask a Lewinsky question. There were plenty of reporters from Europe, plenty from Asia, and plenty from Russia. It just wasn't the time or place in their minds.. and as important, it wasn't "proper" reporter/personage material to discuss in a public setting.

The world was more like that Russian state room in the past. Things have changed. That's my point... there's a paparazzi disrespect of all levels of reserve. Its not just with people in high places, if you were a press story target, you're home wouldn't be safe, your friends wouldn't be safe.. there are no limitations.

Is this a judgement of Clinton being innocent.. far from it. Its a comment on how society has changed. Its much more in your face. Had Clinton done these things thirty or a hundred years ago, I feel they wouldn't have seen the light of day.

Is that good, who knows... are we better off knowing about the cigar?
