Tony: Thanks for reminding me about the fun with Albert freaking out when Intel cooled a Pentium II propotype!

Made me smile...and reminded me that those propotypes turn into products that sell and result in INTC profits. Want those profits to go up. I just hate the idea of Craig Barrett being unhappy these days <g>.

Tony - re: " Maybe Paul knows if Intel has a couple of working Katmais right now."

Intel has more than a few "prototypes" of the Katmai - out in developers "hands".

In fact, my guess is that production Katmai silicon is already going through the Intel fabs - to insure a Q199 launch - and maybe a few "early surprises" as well.
