The Password Announces New E-Commerce Deals with Another Universe, Cybermeals, Egghead, and Etoys
Niche Communities of Interest To Be Served Via Targeted Content Filters
WOBURN, Mass., Sept. 15 /PRNewswire/ -- The Password has announced that it has completed innovative e-commerce deals with online retailers AnotherUniverse, Egghead, Etoys and Cybermeals. The Password, (http://www.thepassword.com) a wholly owned subsidiary of CMG Information Services, is a free online service that provides 'best of the Web' content targeted to over 500 communities of interest along with personal publishing tools that allow users to find, personalize, and publish Web content.
The format of The Password, which aggregates content, commerce, and community around personal passions, in each of its "passWorld's," allows its online commerce partners to reach highly targeted groups of users on the Web. Each passWorld highlights the best of the Web on a single subject, providing a unique medium that encourages online sales of related products.
Specially-built filters query each vendor's Web site for relevant products, with the resulting specific product matches integrated into The Password's library of more than 500 special interest 'passWorlds'. In addition, a special marketplace section highlighting commerce partners and their offerings is available from any page in the Password site. The Password receives a commission on each transaction made through its site.
"The Password takes an innovative approach to e-commerce," says Peter Crawford, VP of Sales for The Password.
"Because, instead of generalized pointers, we deliver relevant, targeted merchandise to consumers. That enables us to bring specific products to the attention of specific communities in the context of outstanding, relevant content," Crawford adds.
