I think you are correct on both points. But one thing to consider is the longer LU waits the more entrenched ASND becomes. I think entrenchment is the real value to ASND, the fact that a carrier is highly unlikely to swap out a core for another vendor that is not able to offer DRASTIC performance improvments. If ASND becomes cozy with the CLEC's, RBOC's, and AT&T's of the world with it's SRA improvements, there will be no incentive for ASND to hop in bed with LU.
