Chuck:

One word: - "SOLID"!

The closer you are to a play the more rumors that circulate regarding the play, except for SI of course. The trick is to sort out fact from fantasy and there is only one way to do that - DD! My advice is to take a George approach and get your hands on all the material you can and become as well versed as you possibly can in the subject you wish to make a call on. The alternative is to collect as much info about the showing or subject or property and sit down with some professional technical people and get their opinion. They are hard to find unless you are willing to pay a fee or have some friends in the industry. Make it like a board game, plot the exploration as it occurs along with the results and then compare with known and proven examples paying close attention to detail. Maps and diagrams help. Lots of online info available as well as some people who are willing to converse but ya have to find 'em, then how the heck do you know who they really are.

WSP is working hard, doing good work, and has some exciting results. Those results are being assessed by a lot of very professional people, only some of whom can express their opinions openly.
You might want to talk to some mining analysts if you know any, but make sure you know enough to ask the right questions and can interpret the answers. Homework is everything.

Otherwise your best tools are gut instinct, intestinal fortitude, lightning quick reaction, and knowing that no matter how much you think you might know, there are others who know more and before you do.

The Great White North is settling down for a long cold El NINA winter. Except for a few key players and a handful of juniors and prospectors the '98 summer exploration activity declined substantially over previous years, mostly due to market conditions as well as the cost of serious exploration in the north. There is still lots of activity however the frenzy has subsided, but the gleam, excitement and allure is still very much here. Mostly only the high rollers and well cashed juniors working. Freeze up will likely be early this year. Most projects have started to wind down or have already packed up their tents and hit the Gold Range.

Gotta Run.
