On the subject of Sikhs, I recall that when the British pulled out of Hong Kong the last Gurkha regiments were disbanded and sent home, which caused a minor crisis in Nepal. Several prominent Nepalese were suggesting at the time that the Gurkhas, who are highly regarded for discipline and combat skill, should be retained by the UN as a permanent peacekeeping force. Struck me as a hell of a good idea. I don't know if they're celibate or not. I kind of doubt it, though. Steve
