I didn't intend for my remark to defend JFK's choice in women. I don't necessarily share your opinion about Monica's looks but she is no bimbo as far as I can tell. Of course, we haven't heard her speak yet, though she must be rather bright to have landed an intern position in the White House.

Starr did not have to give us the graphic details of the sexual encounters. All he needed to say was "there was overwhelming evidence, including testimony of Ms. Lewinsky, that there were at least 8 sexual encounters between the President and Ms. Lewinsky." But Starr included the details because he knew the uproar it would cause and that it would take attention away from the fact that his grounds for impeachment are suspect, at best. Like I said before, Clinton's conduct, IMHO, was not impeachable but it shows an incredible and ongoing lapse of judgment and lack of moral character that we should not tolerate from our President. He engaged in sexual activity with a subordinate. He is Commander in Chief of the Military. If an officer in the military did what the President did, he would be court-martialed on the spot. Whether he forced himself on Monica or Monica forced herself onto the President is irrelevant. He should have known better and put a stop to it before it started. He didn't and now he and his family and the nation are paying for it.

Unlike Congress vis a vis the President, I appreciate your penitence and likewise apologize for offending. Next time I'll aim before I fire!
