As of this time, it appears that PAS-7 was launched successfully. Separation has occurred, and they are awaiting acquisition in the next 20 minutes. PAS-7 was built by SS/L for PanAmSat for service over the Indian Ocean

Geoff, does that 876M$ include the Orion "restricted" cash for building O2 and O3? I had the recollection that the discretionary cash available to Loral was more like 600M$ after the Soros transactions.

If LOR steps up and funds G*, I presume it gets something in return. Wouldn't it make sense that LOR would receive equity or some sort of convertible debt? At a minimum, I would think the risk warrants additional equity in G*'s future. It's not inconceivable that G* is currently the best investment out there for LOR? LOR shouldn't be footing the bill unless it has a high degree of confidence in G*'s success. Footing the bill in my view warrants a share in the returns.

I hesitate to say that having taken major hits and being somewhat more skeptical about taking on more risk...but G* is a real bargain if the revised launch plan is successful, costs are kept under control, and the business plan projections are somewhat reasonable (lot's of if's).
