JT, Mr. G never says anything that the average human could possibly understand. I've always been amazed that the guy can talk for hours and not say a word. More important is the "spin" that the spin-masters give his remarks. In any case, it will be entertaining to watch.

It really interests me how the analysts can affect stock prices just before earnings. The companies are in a quiet period and cannot not respond to analyst remarks. Thus, KO gets killed yesterday by a relatively mild downward revision from an analyst that was already on the low side of the estimates.

More interesting was the action on MMM. The brokerage firm simply says that, historically, this is the week the company is going to warn (if its going to warn). Wham, the stock goes down.

We all know about INTC's favorite analyst. His downgrades get great media attention, but, alas, not his upgrades.

Interesting game these folks play!
