NO. The American people should have a say in whether
Clinton stays in office. After all, they are the ones
that voted him in.

I AGREE, He should not resign!

What are we to gain from his resignation? Compare his accomplishments to this (very) partisan witch hunt that is underway and it will be clear which is more important, to the most of us anyway!!! I too voted against Clinton twice, however I do believe he has out done himself. He has truly done the peoples work over the last six years. Needless to say he has shown that he has a serious case of dumb-ass disease, and that he is as vulnerable as any man. How a man of his background and education could stoop so low can not be explained with any word besides madness!

I do not condone what he did nor do I feel that his actions merit the barrage of coverage that this case is getting. I wonder how many of the other Federal Servants (Senators and Congressmen) would stand up to the same five year long probe into their lives???

DM:

Step back and consider the effect of defending a President who is so tainted. It makes good sense for the DNC to recognize the continuing vulnerability of this president to perpetual attack. He has committed the offences outlined by Starr -- he was off sides and got caught on replay -- to use a sports analogy he's fouled out of the game. He's not the only man on the team. Send him to the showers and get Gore in there. Let's get on with the game. To do otherwise may cause irreparable damage the Democratic Party and country.

Sexgate establishes "impeachment" as used in a courtroom -- he lied under oath. This will forever taint Clinton's credibility. Were I Starr, after establishing that he twisted fact to his convenience, I would slowly dribble out injurious investigation findings to be irrationally defended by political loyalists. Perhaps Clinton acts as the "Prince," as suggested by Jack Clark's post, but Starr has taken a few chapters from Mao's methodology!

Why are we acting as though Clinton is the sole alternative as a Democratic president? Perhaps, but let's hope not.

Ciao, Ted

Resign? NO!!! The Republicans took control of the house in 1948, what did we
get? Witch hunts, McCarthyism, blacklisting ect. It took 40 years for people to
forget, and now their back in control, "trying to get at the truth" (?) I'm pissed at
Clinton for his behavior, but I also judge a man by the character of his enemies...

70% of the people want him to stay in office. If the Republicans run him out of
office against the wishes of the people, it'll be ANOTHER 40 years before we have
to deal with House Republicans again>

HELLO this is not 1948, it's 1998 and no one made Clinton drop his draws or do things with a cigar that he did. No one made him LIE to a grand jury. Him lying has nothing to do with Democrat or Republican it has to do with he LIED. As for your 70% were do you guys come up with those numbers. Your like a hypster trying to get a stock to go up. Even us Democrtas can see this now. we got LIED to.
