How 'bout...

another holding company. Doing exactly the same thing.
No seriously, consumer products companies do it all the time. I'm sure the board kicked around several buisness models, some of which would work better in some sectors than others. Since there's a finite demand for CVIA's services, and at least one and possibly other companies out there doing similar things, by spinning off a second holding company it would be like manufacturing 3 different brands of toothpaste-- consumer gets a minor choice, but the same people (us shareholders) get the money. So if CVIA has a plan which works well for tech companies like Phipps, CVIA2 could have a plan which works for retailers or oil drillers or whatever.

This is fun <g>.

Why do you think these types of companies would make a desirable addition? I dont mean for that question to sound "stoopid"... but I really dont know enough about this area to make a good or bad evaluation of "bio" companies.

Most R&D companies have really messed up books at this stage of development.
