Precision Optics Corporation Announces Award of
DWDM Filter Contracts Totaling $1.9 Million

GARDNER, Mass., March 18 /PRNewswire/ -- Precision Optics Corporation, Inc. (Nasdaq: POCI - news) announced today
that it has received orders totaling over $1.9 million from several customers for 100GHz and 200GHz channel separation
Dense Wavelength Division Multiplexer (DWDM) optical filters used in telecommunications systems. First deliveries on
these contracts were made in the month of March and are scheduled through March 2000.

Company President Richard Forkey said this new line of advanced optical thin film DWDM filters is the result of on-going
development efforts announced over the past two years. These filters cover the full range of International
Telecommunication Union (ITU) wavelengths and demonstrate the highest levels of optical performance, with special
attention to environmental stability and very high uniformity of optical properties over the filter area. Available filters and
specifications will be on the Company's web site at poci.com by early April.
