Biometric Identification, Inc. and Key Source International team up to integrate innovative fingerprint verification technology into computer keyboards. Vancouver, B.C. (October 23, 1998) –Sonoma Resource Corp., soon to be known as Biometric Security Corp. (VSE-SNA) (www.fingerprintid.com) has an agreement to acquire 45% of Biometric Identification, Inc. (BioId) (www.biometricid.com). BioId is a leading innovator in creating and applying fingerprint authorization and verification technology. BioId CEO Bob Kamm has announced that his firm is collaborating with Key Source International (www.ksikeyboards.com), to integrate BioId silicon sensor fingerprint verification technology into Key Source computer keyboards. BioId's Fingerprint Verification OEM Module represents an innovation in the fingerprint verification industry, according to Kamm. "Prior to the development of our Veriprint 1000/1100 (V1000/1100) technology, fingerprint solutions were based solely on optical imaging technology and required a PC for template storage and processing. By integrating our technology into their product line, Key Source will be able to offer keyboards with the highest network security, and electronic commerce capabilities." "With our technology, the identity of an individual can be accurately verified in seconds and provide access to corporate networks (LAN/WANs, VPNs and Internets), or secure access to files, documents and printing to protect corporate information and assets," Kamm adds. "From our perspective," says Phil Bruno, Key Source VP of Marketing and Sales, "BioId technology adds another dimension to the products we can offer our customers, because we can integrate that technology into any input device, based on our customers' needs. Many of our banking and financial market customers have asked us to produce security products." "We're teaming with BioId because they offer the complete solution to fingerprint verification challenges, with all the software to make it work." Bruno continues, "Plus, their compact form factor is a perfect fit for our applications. We just think they have the superior product." Key Source's new line of biometric keyboards will be introduced at the Comdex show in Las Vegas, November 16-20th. The line will include a keyboard with a built-in smart card and biometric verification unit. Key Source International, a leading manufacturer of computer keyboards, is located in Hayward, California, and has served such high profile clients as NCR, AT&T, Delta Airlines, IBM, Unisys, Motorola, Baxter Health Care, and Bell Canada. As evidenced by their long-term customers, Key Source emphasizes lasting business relationships. BII located in Sherman Oaks, California, was started by Arete Associates, a highly focused Department of Defence think-tank specializing in sophisticated image analysis of satellite and high altitude-derived visual imagery. BII was launched in 1996 to provide biometric-based verification solutions that can be self-contained or make use of external systems for processing and data storage. Sonoma Resource Corp. has entered into an agreement to acquire up to 45% of Biometric Identification Inc., for an investment of a US $5,000,000. Arete Associates will own the remaining 55%. Sonoma has paid US $1,750,000 to date. For further information telephone 604-687-4144. On Behalf of the Board of SONOMA RESOURCE CORP. ________________________________________ Patrick W.
