Disturbing as this notion may be to those that like their morality, and their legality black and white, horrible or pure, not all perjury is the same.

This smallest of all imaginable perjuries would never have been prosecuted if committed by an ordinary American. Some civil perjuries are, sure. Stock fraud is often handled as an SEC civil matter, with potentially very large fines. Perjury in that context might indeed be prosecuted. And in a number of others. But in this context? Never.
