Hi Venkie,

Lots of speculation that ASND may make a run at Ciena. I frankly don't understand CIEN all that well. Some recent losses may indicate that it's technology may not be all that it was cracked up to be. OTH, optical networking is certainly the future. The biggest negative with this company is that as a stand alone it is vulnerable since it has such a narrow customer base.

I think TLAB is a much safer play right now.

If you are looking for long term buys, you might want to consider TLAB as Chuzz states. Look at the long term chart and you will notice that anytime you bought Dell, CSCO or TLAB on a big dip, you were rewarded.
