Tony and Intel Investors - Intel may have changed its Whitney Chip Set Strategy.

The BAD NEWS - the integrated chip set Whitney was supposed to include both the 440BX and an i740 2D/3D Graphics chip. The i740 chip has been dropped.

The GOOD NEWS - Intel "may" have decided to replace the i740 chip with the newer, more advanced PORTOLA 2D/3D chip !

If this is indeed the case, and the chip set is integrated on a 0.18 micron process, we will be looking at VERY IMPRESSIVE GRAPHICS PERFORMANCE .

This may all sound like VooDoo, but I don't think 3DFX is going to like this news !
