MOT's new set top is a limited "on-a-chip" version ,

Said I was confused . Rich didn't read the announcement you posted as I had been following it elsewhere and dismissed it earlier:

>> " One senior MSO engineering executive who was familiar with Motorola's plans called Blackbird "technologically interesting," but the executive added, "We do not want to be locked into such an application-specific platform," referring to the game environment.

As for Motorola's cost projections, the MSO executive said, "What we really need is a digital box that costs no more than our present advanced-analog boxes." <<

Lacking a disk (other I/O) , it is a NC type device , and that only if and when there is network support on husky chew-proof "TV" channels .

My gut feel was that it is below AAPL's market horizon , which may become clearer when all the features of "Sherlock" , including search company partnerships , are revealed .

Regards,
Jim K.
