They aren't going to mention anything about interest rates. CNBC just got an advance copy of the notes for the speech and it didn't mention interest rate cutting at all.

Market is now gapping down, and Scamazon is now at 75 1/2. I've been watching the ticker for the last half hour and I've seen a TON of big trades go across at the bid price. (sells)

Once again, big holders are selling into this fakeout rally.

Someone on another board actually suggested that the reason Amazon has gone up today is because Barnes & Noble announced they had lost money on their online website. EXCUSE ME? Pot calling the kettle black? To me at least, it just shows that online book selling can not be profitable. The shipping costs will KILL you every time.

Just think. A big bookstore pays for an 18 wheeler to bring them 20 or 30 tons of books at a time. Amazon has to charge 5 bucks for shipping for EVERY SINGLE BOOK.

Some things simply weren't meant to be totally mail order. And a no-margin commodity such as paperback books just makes it that much harder.
