Telescan is not for custom indicator writing. I supplement Telescan with Metastock 6.5. The latter is good for that. Telescan is for scanning per your own criteria, tracking in real time, getting news, intraday graphs. My data is from telescan but it is separate from the software. I also use technifilter for P&F which I believe in. and real-time Dow Jones.. and AB Watley real time quotes, with back up from NAQ quotes.. Approximate monthly cost of all this is 1,000 so it's not exactly economical, but I'm used to it. It's cheaper than a bloomberg terminal with Tradestation.. I'm going to be adding a third computer in about 6 months (and a student from nearby FAU to help with day-to-day stuff like monitoring the chat room, calling companies for earnings dates, bookkeeping, miscellaneous) with that new flat screen monitor otherwise I don't see any changes for the next few years.

If you're using freerealtime.com, wallstreetcity.com (or tscn.com),
Datek or PCQuote.Com's MarketSmart for your real time quotes,
you may want to download Medved QuoteTracker - a shareware program
from medved.net - that connects to
these and other sources on the Web and uses the quote data
it pulls to track user's portfolio(s), plot live intraday RT
charts, give stock price alerts, track major indexes, show
historical data charts etc..
