I am not sure what overseas sources you have , but what I am reading is that how stupid we look spending millions of dollars on this personal matter when there are issues out there of much greater importance. The majority of the Nations abroad aren't even allowed to voice their opinion, much less organize a systematic witch hunt. We have given the folks abroad quite a bit to chuckle about here lately. If we aren't spending millions to save a whale, then we're throwing away megabucks investigating each other. I contend that the special prosecutor law should be repealed since there are guys out there, like Starr, that get out of control. Had he followed his mandate, we would have never heard about Monica, which IS by the way things normally go around the beltway. Normally we don't hear about the President's antics until he has died, case in point JFK. As for his accomplishments, they are too numerous to list here. However, I will remind you of a few that you should be VERY aware of. The lowest national unemployment numbers in decades, and the fact that we now have a balanced budget (with surplus) for the first time in since Nixon put us in debt are two issues that put things in perspective for most of us!. These items are directly attributable to Mr. Clinton's policies, ergo, to him!! If you have missed what has been going on in our economy over the six years, don't blame the President. Yes, what he did was bad! But the good that man has done more than out-weighs his sins. Having spent almost 19 years abroad in various countries I can say with confidence that as flawed as our system may seem, I haven't seen anything better. Believe you me, if we were to run the Pres out, then the laughter from abroad would really start, especially from the French. As I wrote earlier I (and the majority of Americans) voted against the man, but our electoral process put him in any way. Once he was in office and it became apparent to me that he was capable of doing the peoples work, I decided to join the team and work with him. I have learned over the years that you can't please everyone but as long as he is pleasing the majority (which he apparently is, according to the polls) I support his policies
