Qwest in Deal With Netscape
To Plug Wares on Web Site

By a WALL STREET JOURNAL Staff Reporter

DENVER -- For the second time this week, Qwest
Communications International has made a move to expand its
presence on the Internet.

In a three-year deal valued at $25 million, the Denver company
will pay Netscape Communications to promote its
telecommunications services to millions of customers who cross
Netscape's Web site, known as Netcenter.

Qwest spent a lot more earlier in the week, $185 million in stock,
to acquire Internet service provider Icon CMT of New Jersey.

The Netscape deal, to be announced Thursday, will create a single
area on Netcenter called "Netscape Contact" where long-distance
telephone calls, conference calls, faxing, e-mail, Internet access and
combined voice and e-mail will be managed in a single inbox, and
where customers can buy long-distance and Internet services from
Qwest.
